Unit Information U.S.SOCOM has a very complicated structure, since we have Delta, SF, Rangers, SOAR and we are planning of having SEALs and Force Recon in the future. This page is to help you understand our unit and structure. Please feel free to contact us if you still have questions. U.S.SOCOM is unlike any other unit in the military. U.S.SOCOM has a lot of units under their command. We are created as much like U.S.SOCOM as possible.
Even though we have Time In Grade and Time In Service for our ranks, this is not set in stone. Just because you reach a certain time doesn't mean you will be promoted. Neither does it mean you must put in this much time either. It depends on a lot of things, such as job duties, performance, and much more.
1st Special Forces Operational Detachment - Delta
SFOD-D has three combat squadrons. Alpha, Bravo and Charlie we have yet to create, at this moment. To be a full SFOD-D Operator you need to be at least a SSG, in real life. Here all you need to be a SGT. We have five stages of training, as well. We have Phase I - SFAS, which is land navigation. Phase II - SUT is Small Unit Tactics where we teach everything a Delta Operator will need to do on any sort of mission. . Phase IV - MOS training is training for your SF MOS. You can see these choices on our Unit MOS List page. You have a choice between 18B, 18C, 18D, and 18E. Phase V - Robin Sage is a training final where you put everything you have learned into a mission. Phase IV - SERE is training that teaches you to evade the enemy and evade being detected and capture. One key thing about Delta is they are experts on CQB and Counter Terrorism, we teach this in Phase II, but we go even further once you get in the unit, you will be trained more in this area along with all Phases.
7th Special Force Group
160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment 160th is our special operations aviation unit in U.S.SOCOM. They have the fixed wing and the rotary wing. If you decided to go into this field, you would go in after BCT, and train in your MOS and after that, you would be a PFC. After completion of your MOS training, you would work as a gunner most of the time as part of the crew, normally in a chopper. You will also be able to do CSAR in SOAR. As you rank up, you will at one point get promoted to Crew Chief of a crew. You would be an engineer, so you can work on the choppers, but you would also do all the work that comes with this position. This is an extremely important position in any crew. As you would continue to get ranked up, you would soon be able to get to train to be a Pilot and a Warrant Officer. After you get to the rank of SPC/CPL you will have the choice of going to Warrant Officer School and at the completion of it, you will go to Aviation school and learn to be a pilot. At the completion of that you will be a pilot and whenever on mission, you may be Pilot or Co-Pilot on a mission. This unit is a tough hardnosed group, that trains together and on their own. They are the best at their jobs.
75th Rangers Regiment 75th are built just like the Rangers. Starts with a fireteam goes to a squad, then to a platoon, and a company, then Battalion and finally the Regiment. The cav unit and artillery also falls under the 75th, so this unit has a lot of abilities. Most of their jobs have to do with direct action with the enemy, unlike Delta, SFGs, SEALs, and Force Recon. They only have to complete BCT and AIT, along with Ranger School at which point they are part of a fireteam and a squad. The huge asset that this unit offers to our unit, is the ability to do DA Operations anywhere and defend their position, regardless of how many enemy troops there are. The 75th is a bunch of gritty hardnosed soldiers that will hold ground until help gets there. As they like to say, "Rangers Lead the Way".
